Storms Across US Bring Tornadoes To the East Coast, Record April Snow in Midwest

Slow-moving storms turned fatal this weekend after it created new record and near-record snowfall and low temperatures across the Midwestern United States and spurred tornadoes further east on Sunday, according to Reuters. Airline travelers were frustrated since many were stranded to wait the storms out and thousands across the country were left without power. Snowfall was expected to reach 18 inches in some areas of Michigan, where 310,000 homes and businesses in the southeastern portion of the state were left without power due to a heavy ice storm.
